The program includes 1 incursion per year which can be delivered in any term depending on availability.
Term 1: Pollination (incursion)
In-person incursion: Students explore pollination, agriculture, and sustainability
Activities: Planting of bee friendly seeds and flower making and a fun pollination game.
Term 2: Native bee biology (World Bee Day – May 20)
Digital presentation: Students discover the life cycle and behaviours of native bees.
Activities: hands-on activity and native bee ‘roles of bees’ game.
Term 3: Cultural significance (Aligned with NAIDOC Week)
Digital presentation: Explore First Nations perspectives on native bees and their cultural importance.
Activities: Create didgeridoos and learn about how Aboriginals used native bees.
Term 4: Solitary bees & habitat building
Digital presentation: Students learn about solitary bee homes.
Activities: Hands-on activity of building a solitary bee nest.
